From 16 to 18 June 2026, members of DiversoLab attended the Jornadas de la Sociedad de Ingeniería de Software y Tecnologías de Desarrollo de Software, held in Alicante and organised by the University of Alicante. The event brought together researchers and professionals working on software engineering, databases, service engineering, programming languages and related areas. Yesterday, Diverso Lab visited the CEIP Olivar de Quinto primary school in Dos Hermanas to conduct research with 5th-grade students on how artificial intelligence systems based on Large Language Models (LLMs) work.Specifically, ETSII student Elena Tomás Vela demonstrated the "Glass Parrot" tool, an application she developed as part of her Master's Thesis, supervised by professors Francisco José Domínguez Mayo and Jesús Moreno León. Following the demonstration, the students used Glass Parrot to create their own language models, working on building the training dataset and observing the impact of their decisions on the outputs generated by the model.Throughout the session, we gained tangible familiarity with concepts such as model bias, their stochastic nature, and the critical importance of training data on their performance. A total of forty students enrolled in vocational training programmes and computing specialisation courses at IES Polígono Sur in Seville took part in an artificial intelligence event organised by Programamos, within the framework of a project funded by the AI Opportunity Fund: Europe, an initiative promoted by Google.org and the Centre for Public Impact. Diverso Lab contributed to the event with an experiment focused on prompt variability, developed in collaboration with José Miguel Horcas, a researcher at the University of Málaga (UMA). Yesterday, April 29, 2026, our team from the University of Seville presented its work in the International Workshop on Languages for Modelling Variability (MODEVAR 2026). The event, hosted online by TU Braunschweig (Germany), brought together international experts to discuss and advance the field of software variability representation. Feature models have been recognized as one of the main contributions to the Software Product Line community since their invention in 1990.
