New Publication accepted in International Journal of Electronic Government Research

New Publication accepted in International Journal of Electronic Government Research

Uncategorized
We are thrilled to share that the main work from Salvador Muñoz-Hermoso’s industrial PhD thesis has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Electronic Government Research (IJEGR). The article, soon to be published in the International Journal of Electronic Government Research, represents the main outcome of the research on Smart Governance carried out as part of an industrial PhD between Diverso Lab and the Provincial Informatics Company of Seville (INPRO). Their work provides both a theoretical and practical framework, along with resources to support the development of smart governance platforms for cities and municipalities. These data-intensive platforms, supported by disruptive technologies such as AI, will enable more open governments—fostering participation from citizens, professionals, and businesses in data- and knowledge-driven public decision-making. The proposal also integrates software product line…

What is new in AquaIA?

Uncategorized
Last week, the AquaIA team took part in a Project follow up meeting. The meeting was attended by all the differet groups that contribute to the Project, along with members of the Consejería de Agricultura, Ganadería, Pesca y Desarrollo Sostenible from Junta de Andalucía, and it consisted on a series of presentations in which each team showcased its contibutions and future steps ahead. The members of DiversoLab gave a Keynote on the current state of development, with a special focus on how innovative technologies are being applied to the Project. Other presentations took a deep dive on how controlled deficit irrigation techniques are being applied to lettuce crops, revealing that during the experimental phase, an astonishing amount of 50% water was saved compared to a traditional irrigation approach. AquaIA is…

Our colleague David Romero will spend a term in Glasgow

Uncategorized
Two weeks ago, our fellow colleague and Ph.D. student David Romero went on a short trip to A Coruña, Galicia. There, he was welcomed by University of A Coruña LBD (Laboratorio de Bases de Datos). During his stay, he had the opportunity to discuss the latest advances in high-variability systems with other researchers. David is now back with us at Seville for a short time, as he will soon embark on another trip, this time to Glasgow, Scotland, where he will spend a trimester progressing with his research work. From DiversoLab, we want to wish David the best during his next adventure. We are sure the experience will be rewarding!

Seminario “¿Cómo Funcionan los LLMs?”

Uncategorized

New Universal Variability Language for Software, led by University of Seville researchers

Uncategorized
The project has been in development for more than 6 years in collaboration with different German and Austrian universities. University of Seville professor and Diverso Lab coordinator David Benavides has led a consortium that has been working since 2018 and has had meetings in France, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Luxembourg or Austria, in the context of MODEVAR, to develop a common variability language. The language has been named UVL: Universal Variability Language and promises to be a milestone in the development of software product lines. UVL allows modeling variability in software systems, but its applications are beyond software. UVL assists in the production of highly configurable systems such as Android, Chrome or artificial intelligence systems. These models are used both academically and industrially for the study and production of highly configurable…
